6 Jul 2007 - Sports Day 2007.
As the 6th July looked like our only hope, we had to hold Sports straight after the Teddy Bears Picnic. A popular move with or younger competitors who were able to race fully made up! One new event was the Teddy Bears Race, pictured opposite.
AS usual, the Sports began with the team challenge. In this event, teams of mixed ages circulate around 12 events, scoring Bronze, Silver or Gold . The targets and scores depend on age. Wellie Throwing and Marathon running were popular and high scoring events, and a ladder run was one of this years new activities.
Then followed the team relay events. Wild accusations of adults cheating were hotly denied and children did proove quicker when it came to squeezing through hoops.
Finally came the 'flat races' during which Year 6 had the extra challenge of running up the slight slope at the bottom of the 'FunDay' field.
It was so good to be able to use this field rather than our very remote and untoiletted Playing Field. This was due to the genorisity of Mr and Mrs Esmond Cole for which we are very grateful.
