SPORTS DAY: It was so good to be able to dodge the recent rain, and to benefit from the generosity of Mr and Mrs Esmond Cole in allowing us to have Sports on the "FunDay field" this year. The action was fast and furious and this year included several pre-school children and families. See the news section for more about our sports and the mixture between individual competitive events and team challenges.

Children have been extremely busy this term. Class 1 have just presented their assembly, featuring a lot of excellent singing- all all about 'The Bad Tempered Ladybird'.

There has been lots of Sporting activity including Multi-sports, Volleyball and Cricket. We took part in a Volleyball Festival at Bratton Fleming School, pictured right, and Year 3 and 4 children travelled to Barnstaple and Pilton Cricket ground for a festival involving 18 teams.

Both classes are now having Tag Rugby lessons on Fridays.
Recently, the school took part in the Mothers Union centenary.

This involved contributing to a village Art and Craft display as well as participating in the Flower Festival in the Church. The theme was "Women of the Bible"

The school also sang and presented a play about Esther.

We are delighted that the Mothers Union generously contributed £800 raised during the festival.
The Parish Council also raised £273.81 for us during the Fun Day. This support is very much appreciated and will go towards the development of the triangle of land adjacent to the school. Click on the digger on the NEWS page to see the plan for this.

On Wednesday 18th July we presented Alice The Musical, based on the play by Out of the Ark.

It was great this year to also present our dress rehearsal to residents of Chelfam care Home.
Th 39 performers displayed a multitude of talent ranging from singing, which featured 13 soloists, great dancing and fantastic acting.

Threatened by the fearsome combination of Queen of Hearts, Jodie and executioners Owen, Josh and Oliver, the audience rose magnificently to the challenge and joined in the singing enthusiastically.
